Kalmar Agreement

Steven Russell, Regional Director, Kalmar Ireland: “This service contract with BCT will provide them with the in-depth knowledge and experience of our first-class maintenance experts. The cooperation between our two organizations is a true partnership based on mutual trust and transparency, and we are pleased to be able to continue it. Alec Colvin, Terminal Manager, BCT: “Our relationship with Kalmar as a supplier of equipment and services goes back more than 20 years and we have always been able to count on them to provide responsive and flexible support. This agreement will provide us with the qualified maintenance resources we need to ensure the availability of all our critical equipment in the future. The Treaty of Kalmar was signed on September 25, 1397 between the representatives of the three Nordic kingdoms of Sweden, Denmark and Norway. The agreement was founded on the Kalmar Union, where the three empires were to be ruled by a monarch. However, the treaty did not bring together the different legal structures of each kingdom. The agreement was broken when Gustav I of Sweden left the Kalmar Union on 6 June 1523. Kalmar, part of Cargotec, and Yara have entered into an agreement in which Kalmar will provide fully autonomous equipment, software and services for a unique fully digitized container handling solution at Yara`s porsgrunn, Norway plant. This means that all necessary operations related to the world`s first autonomous and electric container ship yara Birkeland will be conducted in a completely autonomous and cost-effective and emission-free manner. The order was recorded in Cargotec`s new orders in the second quarter of 2018 and delivery is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2020.

The agreement was broken when Gustav I. by Sweden, on 6 June 1523, left the Kalmar Union and remained only partly a staff union between Denmark and Norway. Eric`s death was bad news for Margaret`s engagement to Haakon. When the balance of power shifted backwards and Denmark`s support for Eric was no longer needed, the marriage was also deemed unnecessary and the deal annulled. Kalmar will also support Yara`s operation with a full-service contract. The Kalmar Care contract includes full maintenance with parts for Kalmar FastCharge (TM) AutoStrads, including an availability agreement and preventive maintenance of the Kalmar AutoRMG crane. In addition, Kalmar employees will provide operational, automation and software support for the entire solution. Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed a 6-year service contract with Belfast Container Terminal Ltd from Kalmar Care for the supply of maintenance personnel for Belfast Victoria Terminal 3 (VT3) in Northern Ireland. The order was recorded in Cargotec`s new orders for the fourth quarter of 2020, with the agreement coming into effect in early November 2020. .
