WW2 Evacuation

To help the children to expatriate with the characters in the book we are focusing on in English, we gave the children the opportunity to experience evacuation through the use of our Now Press Play headphones. The children experienced hearing the announcement that told them that Britain was at war as well as being evacuated to the countryside. They couldn’t imagine saying goodbye to their parents, not knowing if you would ever see them again or if your home would still be there when you returned. We concluded that both the children and parents of the war had to be extremely brave to go through with this and that it isn’t something that we would like to experience first hand. We are now using our experience to help when writing a diary entry as a child who is heading off on a train away from London
