This morning we recapped how to use the passive voice in our writing. We looked at the difference between an ‘active’ sentence, where the subject is doing the verb, and a ‘passive’ sentence, where the subject is having the verb done to it. To rehearse this we played a ‘zombies’ game as we find it useful to use the phrase ‘by zombies’ when it isn’t clear who is doing the verb in a passive sentence. The children had lots of fun changing sentences from active to passive and vice versa; it got pretty competitive too!
