A wild week!

This week the children have been learning about wild animal homes. We have looked at different animals that live in the different parts of Africa, learnt a animal poem and have discussed the differences between our own homes and animal homes.

In Literacy we watched the story of ‘How Elephant got his Trunk’ and the children wrote their own versions of it. In Maths we have been finding the number that is 1 more and 1 less.

Challenges this week have included creating shape patterns, writing about an under the sea picture and matching animals to their habitats, discussing why they might live there.

Alongside this the children have been exploring animal foot prints, playing wild animal Top Trumps, building animal homes, using the stickle bricks, for the Popoid animals, exploring 2D and 3D shapes, looking at books and much more.

This afternoon we have also introduced the children to the ‘Big Ask’ survey which can be completed online and aims to find the opinions of children of various ages about different things such as, school and the lockdown etc.

Please contact the office if you require a paper copy of any of these documents.
