Today Year 2 have been making a simple circuit. We showed the children all the equipment they would need and then together they worked out how to make the light bulb light up. The children learnt that our circuit needed a power supply (a battery) and that the circuit must be complete so the electricity can flow all the way round. We discovered that if we broke the circuit in any place the light bulb would go out. After having a go at practically making our circuit, the children also drew what a simple circuit for a light bulb would look like using the correct symbols.
