Week one!

Reception BlogComments Off on Week one!

Wow, what a wonderful start to the year. The children have done a great job of coming into school with big smiles on their faces and finding their pegs and draws, even those children who have been less smiley have not taken long to find a friend and settle in.

The children have been learning lots already, especially the carpet rules and the daily routines such as using the water fountain, going to the toilet, lining up, putting coats and welly boots on, well as learning the names of lots of new children (the staff are trying hard on that one too!).

Also this week the Peter Rabbits and Paddington Bears have been having fun in the class room, drawing pictures, making and creating, exploring the maths area, playing with the dinosaurs, building with the Duplo and playing colour games. Outside they have been enjoying exploring the mud kitchen, playing musical instruments, building houses, playing Mums and Dads, climbing, using the fireman’s pole and much, much more.

Oh, and we also went blackberry picking in our nature garden! A very busy but enjoyable week, with many more to come!
