This afternoon, the Year 4 football team continued their quest to the final with a semi-final fixture against Hopping Hill. The team haven’t played for a while and have been excitedly waiting in anticipation for this fixture. On the line… a place in the final!

The game started very evenly before Hopping Hill took a 1-0 lead through a well worked goal. As the half continued, the team grew well into the game but couldn’t find a breakthrough. However, after half time, the team came to life and started to press on in the game. After a few good attempts and some good saves, the team found an opening and levelled the score at 1-1. The boys continued to move forward and worked incredibly hard to force change after change. With five minutes to go, the team were rewarded for their hard work and teamwork with a goal. 2-1! Hopping Hill fought back strongly but a few last-ditch challenges and two outstanding saves put the team over the line and into the final!

The team have excelled again and showed amazing resilience, cooperation and teamwork to come back into the game and get the victory! We would like to thank Hopping Hill for hosting the fixture and for their congratulations and good wishes at the end of the game. We now head to the final in the coming weeks! Another incredible achievement by each member of the team and I am incredibly proud of them all!
