This afternoon, a team of Year 4 children represented the school at a district hockey tournament at Moulton School. The event saw the team placed into a round-robin group of five teams.

The tournament started out strong for the team with a 6-0 victory over Brixworth followed by a 3-0 win over CCS. The next match provided a good challenge and the children battled well to earn a 1-1 draw against Staverton. Going into the final group match, the team needed a big win to secure their place in the 1st place play-offs. The team responded perfectly. A 4-1 win over Roade saw the team with a points difference of +12 putting them top of the group and into the 1st place play-offs!

In the play-offs, the top two teams would advance to the County Games on 11th July at Moulton College. After going 1-0 down, the team battled incredibly against Brackley Juniors to grind out a 2-1 victory. With a win putting them in the County Games, the team turned on the style in an impressive 4-1 victory!

This victory put the children over the top of the other 13 competing teams making them the district champions and one of the two teams to represent South Northants and Daventry at the County Games!

Each of the children were brilliant and showed incredible sportsmanship, teamwork and skill to overcome all the challenges in front of them! The children played and coached excellently and thoroughly deserve their place at the County Games! Well done all!
