This week the children have been learning all about mini-beasts. We started off the week by reading ‘The Hungry Caterpillar’ story where we discussed what happens during the life cycle of a butterfly and healthy food. We also looked at the similarities and differences between mini-beasts and the children wrote clues to describe a mini-beast. In maths the children practised their sharing skills as they used jotting to share leaves between different amounts of mini-beasts.
Also this week the children have been practising their subtraction by completing a colour by number activity, learning how to draw butterflies, sorting mini-beasts, sharing their homework about their favourite animal, writing about Mr Thomas’ curiosity cube, telling stories with the mini-beast small world toys, buying holiday items from our beach shop and much more.
The children also participated in their first sports day this week. We were very proud of them, they did a great job at trying their best on all of the activities and races and showed great sportsmanship as their cheered of their team mates and congratulated the winners. A great day all round, with great weather.
