This week the children have been completing work based around the story of Red Riding Hood. In Literacy we have been acting out the story in groups using the woods in the immersive room. In maths we have been helping Red with some word problems, using a number line to subtract to work out the answers.

Challenges this week have included drawing a cottage in the woods and making a Red Riding Hood to add to it; drawing food in Red’s basket that she takes to Grandma and labelling it; completing a spot the difference activity and practising their sharing.

Alongside this, the children have been retelling the story using small world figures and costume props; building with the Lego, working out the best way to make their own basket, putting on their own shows using the role-play theatre and much, much more.
