Year 5 Bikeability Week

NewsComments Off on Year 5 Bikeability Week

For the past week, Year 5 have had their Bikeability training! This training has enabled the children to improve their road safety awareness, cycling skills and confidence. On the first day of the Bikeability training, the children practised their cycling skills on the playground where they learned how to ride one-handed so they were able to signal and also increased their control of their bike when weaving between cones. After that, the children ventured out into Grange Park to learn to ride their bikes safely in a real-life environment. Out on the road, the children learned to safely complete many manoeuvres including: U-turns, turning left/right into a side road (minor road) and turning left/right onto a main road (major road), passing a parked car and how to pull off and stop their bike. The children who took part have proudly received their badges/certificates which shows how excellent they are at riding their bike safely! Well done Year 5.
