Group 3 - Day 2 - Afternoon - Climing and Caving
It's been a Hard Day’s Night and soon the children will be sleeping like logs after a great afternoon of Climbing Every Mountain… or a few towers in our case! The climbing walls were another super opportunity for the children to challenge themselves to go 5, 6, 7, 8… steps beyond their comfort zone. Once again, Group 3 were ‘Rising Up’ to the challenge and were amazingly supportive of one another: shouting encouragement and offering advice to different climbers on the walls. With this support, and even though the children were, Under Pressure, many of the children exceeded their personal targets and impressed the instructors and both Mr Johnson and Mrs Taylor (even she had a go at this!).
Like hiking socks in a washing machine, we descended into our caving session. The children were quickly Over-ground, Under-Ground and Wombling Free in a maze of synthetic tunnels and passages to simulate caving in a safe environment. Fears were conquered, and the child who you can see being recognised outside the tunnels was particularly brave by put herself forward to hide in the ‘caves’ to be found by the other children. This was an excellent session that the children will remember with fondness and put the bow on a Perfect Day for Group 4!
