Theme and Variations
In Music this week, we looked at a graphic score. In order to play the music, we had to follow the key and use different body percussion sounds. After playing it a few times, we discovered it was Twinkle Twinkle. We then found out about Theme and Variations form, a musical structure often used by composers where they start with an initial tune or theme, before tweaking and adapting it for further variations. For each variation, we had a go at writing out the rhythm using the musical notation of crotchets, quavers and rests.
