Gerunds

This morning we learnt about gerunds. Gerunds are words formed from the root verb +ing; however, instead of acting as a verb, they are acting as a noun! We soon learnt that these were easy to spot by putting the phrase ‘the act of’ in front of the word to test it out.

Once we had got to grips with gerunds, we made chatterboxes and created silly sentences by inserting some nonsense gerunds! It was lots of fun!
