Our out-of-this-world school trip!
Yesterday, Year 5 ventured to the National Space Centre in Leicester! We started the day off by visiting the UK's biggest planetarium. We were all blown away by the astronaut show where we experienced a rocket launch from inside the body of an astronaut, explored the amazing worlds of inner and outer space, from floating around the International Space Station to manoeuvring through microscopic regions of the human body.
Following this, we explored the different interactive rooms starting with the Solar System, then The Universe, Home Planet and Into Space. We also went up the iconic Rocket Tower! This is home to Blue Streak and Thor Able rockets, as well as the Gagarin Experience, Apollo Lunar Lander and real Moon Rock! The four exhibition decks tell the story of the Space Race, history of rocketry, and Britain's Space Race.
We all had such a fantastic day and the children represented the school brilliantly!
Now time to come back to Earth!!
