Parts and wholes!

Last week on Wednesday, Year 5 used their place value knowledge to look at larger numbers. We compared different numbers and examined how place value made some numbers larger than others—then investigated the role a placeholder has in a larger number. We took our learning outside to practise representing 6-digit numbers on the playground and used part-whole diagrams to show the place value of these numbers.
