Televisions Past and Present

Today, Year 2 has been learning about the invention of the television and how this invention has changed over the decades. The children watched some moving black and white television images from the past and were really surprised at the difference in the quality of the images. They were also surprised to see that very old televisions were made with wooden frames. This lesson sparked a lot of interesting discussions and I asked the children to ask their parents and even grandparents, if possible, about their earliest memories of watching television.
