A great first week back!

We have had a great week in Year 1 this week! We have launched into our new topic - Come fly with me: Arctic. We visited the immersive room to get a feel for what the Arctic is really like. It was so interesting to see how far away the Arctic is from Grange Park and what kind of animals live there. We were surprised to find out that people live there too and we will learn more about this as the term goes on! 

We started our new Computing unit this week where we explored Paint 3D and how we can use the tools effectively on their for digital painting. 

We also started a new unit in Music. This unit is based around the piece ‘Colonel Hathi’s march’ from The Jungle Book. The children will explore moving and counting in time to march music, composing their own marching music, listening to contrasting low and high instruments typically found in a marching band, as well as responding to music through movement.
