Finding our 'way' - Wayobs

The Maya believe that everyone is born with a spirit companion. They had a symbol to represent each one. There are 20 'Wayob' symbols. Your 'way' is based on when you are born and is said to guide you through life. Each symbol has certain characteristics that describe personality traits and explain what job you would be good at. We chose our Wayob and had a go at drawing it. We then created a tile filled with our Wayob, patterns (just like those found in Maya art), and symbols that represented us.
