How do shadows change ?

Before we went to phonics we drew around our shadow outside. During Science we watched an interactive demonstration of how shadows change as the sun moves across the sky.We learnt that shadows move during the day and change shape because of where the sun is in the sky. We used the torches to explore this theory. We pretended the torch was the sun and moved it around our figure looking at how the shadow of the figure changed.  At the end of the lesson we tried to draw a shadow for a tree at different times in the day. 

At various points in the day we went outside to check whether our shadow had changed.
